June 5, 2003 (Florence, SC) – First Reliance Bank is pleased to announce that Thomas C. Ewart has joined their staff as Senior Vice President. Formerly with Carolina First, Ewart will now fill the role of Chief Credit Officer at First Reliance Bank. He will collaborate with the CEO in overall administration of the bank, overseeing general bank operations to achieve growth and increased market share.
Ewart is president of the Florence Rotary Club; past president of the Florence Chamber of Commerce; Chairman of the Coker College Board of Visitors; United Way Campaign Chair-elect; and a member of the Francis Marion University Foundation Board. He is involved in various community organizations such as Girl Scouts of America, American Heart Association and St. Luke Lutheran Church.

Ewart is a graduate of Newberry College and received his MBA from Golden State University.
